Cost & Payment Methods
The cost of the course can be viewed on our home page (top left) under Cost Calculator. The cost for an Arizona Traffic Citation dismissal is determined based on the court, from which a person received their citation from, (Court Diversion Fee) as well as a State Fee, State Surcharge and School Fee. The Total online amount is the total you pay to have the violation dismissed from that court. If you are taking the class for any other reason than an Arizona Traffic Citation dismissal the cost is $49 (Online School Fee) or $49 (Classroom School Fee).

FOR ONLINE COURSE:
Visa, MasterCard, Discover or Paypal online payment. You may also choose to mail a money order or Cashier’s check to our office for the full amount. However, if you mail the payment you will not be able to start the course until payment is received in our office. We DO NOT take personal checks.
FOR CLASSROOM COURSE:
Pre-payment may be made with Visa, MasterCard, Discover or Paypal online. Your prepayment must be made no later than 4pm on Friday for weekend classes (Saturday or Sunday) or by 2pm for a weekday class. If pre-payment is NOT made you must have a Cashier’s check or Money order when you attend the class.

1. I was not driving a commercial vehicle at the time of this violation. |
2. I am the violator named on the citation. |
3. It has been at least 1 year (12 months - from the date of my previous violation to my current violation) for which I attended a defensive driving school for the dismissal of an Arizona traffic violation. |
4. I am not registered for any other defensive driving course in the state of Arizona. |
5. To the best of my knowledge, this citation was not issued as a result of a collision that killed or seriously injured any person(s) including myself. |
6. I understand this course will dismiss only one (1) eligible moving violation. All other violations must be handled with the court. |
7. I understand that by taking this course for this violation, I am giving up my right to challenge the violation in court. I further understand that I will be ineligible to have future citations dismissed through this diversion program for the next year. |
8. I understand I am responsible for my eligibility and correct extension date information. I choose to take the class, knowing and affirming that if TSMS determines through the court that there has been no extension granted to me or the extension date granted is less than seven days from today, I will be ineligible. Eligibility checks are performed as a courtesy by certified defensive driving schools. |

Course Completion Notice
FOR ONLINE COURSE:
This course must be completed at least 7 days prior to your court or extension date. If you fail to complete in this time frame you will not be completed and your violation will not be dismissed and you will not receive a refund.
Once the course is completed your user email and password will be voided from the system.
Once a student begins a course, the course material will be available up to at least 7 days prior to court or extension date, after which the login and password will be voided. This termination may take place without notice.
To successfully complete our online class, students must, by the seventh day prior to their court or extension date:
- Log in & start the course by 4:00 pm
- Complete the entire course, including the survey by 11:59 pm
FOR CLASSROOM COURSE:
This course must be completed at least 7 days prior to your court or extension date.
Eligible Violations List
Requirements for Course Registration
In order to register for a course to have a violation dismissed you must have the following:
- Traffic Citation
- Government Issued ID
- Extension Paperwork (if applicable)
Note: A legible copy of the Traffic Citation and the Government Issued ID must be verified by school staff prior to Online ID verification.
Program Instruction Time
FOR ONLINE COURSE:
The online course is designed for a minimum of 240 minutes (4 hours). Please allow an additional 30-45 minutes for quizzes, security questions as well as the survey at the end of the course.
The entirety of the course includes:
- 16 video modules (approx 15 minutes each = 240 minutes)
- 16 quizzes (approx 1.5 minutes each = 24 minutes)
- 5 security questions (approx .5 minutes each = 2.5 minutes)
- 1 End of Course Survey (approx 3.5 minutes)
- Total Approx Time: 270 minutes (4 hours 34 minutes)
- Per Arizona statute, a student will be automatically logged out of a module after 60 minutes of inactivity.
FOR CLASSROOM COURSE:
The classroom course is between 240 minutes and 270 minutes (4-4 1/2 hours).
School Refund Policy
Once a person begins the course, the school fee may not be refunded.
If a person registers and pre-pays for a class/course and does not complete class/course, school will charge a $29 processing fee. Processing fee will be deducted from school fee amount.
Other fees will be handled in accordance with the guidelines below:
State Fee, State Surcharge and Court Diversion Fee
- Once a person begins a defensive driving course, classroom or ADM, the state fee, court diversion fee and state surcharge are non-refundable except as set forth in this subsection. An ADM school shall not refund the state fee or state surcharge for any student failing the required test but shall forward the state fee and state surcharge to the Arizona Supreme Court.
- A school shall provide a refund of court diversion, state fees and the state surcharge when:

- A student pre-pays for a defensive driving course, does not begin the course and does not contact the school to reschedule for a future course. The school shall refund the court diversion fee, state fee and state surcharge 30 days after the scheduled defensive driving course date or upon notification from the student the student will not attend a course, whichever is first;
- An officer fails to file a citation with a court and the cited person attends a defensive driving course for that citation. Upon notification by the jurisdictional court, the school shall notify division staff that a refund is requested. Upon written approval by division staff, the school shall refund the court diversion, state fee and state surcharge to the student; or
- A citation is dismissed by a jurisdictional court on its own motion, for technical problems not correctable under civil traffic rules of court.
- Refund of the court diversion fee, state fee or the state surcharge shall result in restoration of the student’s eligibility for a defensive driving course.
- Refund of state fees and state surcharges to a school or a student is not permitted for an ineligible violation or an ineligible student who attends a defensive driving course, whether by fault of the student or school.
- At its discretion, a court may direct refund of a court diversion fee to a student, or may direct the school to forward the fee to the court for a bond or other amount due the court, up to the amount of the default for the citation.

Course Availability for online course
The online course is available 24 hours a day/7 days a week, except for routine maintenance that is scheduled and posted with advance notice (minimum of 24 hours prior). In the event that down time occurs as a result of unforeseen circumstances or those beyond the school's control, every effort will be made to restore the course availability to students as quickly as possible.
Course Timers for online course
The course is broken up into 15 minute modules, after each module there will be a quiz. The quiz will consist of 3 question and you must get 100% in order to move to the next module. If you fail the quiz, you can retake it until you pass with 100%.
You may sign in and out of the course at your discretion. You can not speed up or slow down the video, otherwise, it will affect the 15 minute module time and the quiz button will not show up.
Identity/Security Questions for online course
During the online course, you will be randomly asked one of the security questions you set at the time of registration. You must answer this question correctly. Failure to answer the first question will prompt a second security question. Should you fail the second question, you will be unable to finish the course and be required to contact the school to perform manual verification. If manual verification is successful, you will be required to start the course from the beginning.

Course Completion and Certificates
FOR ONLINE COURSE:
The following must occur for the course completion and issuance of a certificate of completion.
- The completion of all modules.
- The passing of all identity questions.
- The end of course survey must be completed
* Please note: identity questions are randomized and secured electronically.
Once these are completed, students will receive a Certificate of Completion via email and may be viewed and printed online as well. All of this is free of any additional charges.
If the course is not completed 7 days prior to your court or extension date you will not receive a refund.
FOR CLASSROOM COURSE:
Once you have completed the classroom course you will receive a certificate of completion from the instructor.
Misrepresentation and Fraud
Any person who knowingly provides false information on the registration or commits fraud during any portion of this course will be expelled from the course and reported to the Arizona Supreme Court and the court of jurisdiction for which they attempted to have a violation dismissed.
Hardware & Software Requirements for online course
Got A Ticket Defensive Driving School provides direction on computer hardware and browser requirements for completing the course. To take full advantage of the course features, computers should be equipped with a mouse, audio speakers, and video drivers. Our training programs require Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE) 11+, Firefox, Google Chrome or another browser that provides equal or greater functionality. In order to view the course video the browser will need to be HTML5 compliant or have Adobe Flash installed.
Limitations for Liability
The person registering acknowledges and agrees that the liability of Got A Ticket Defensive Driving School and their agents and employees for any act, omission, errors, or negligence on the part of Got A Ticket Defensive Driving School and their agents and employees, is strictly limited to and shall not exceed the amount of the registration fee actually paid by the person registered.
